Love notes, and spring concerts

One of Lily's masterpieces.  She cracks me up how she turns as many things as she can into hearts, and even asked if we would accept with a yes and a no box.
Hadley and I hanging out, waiting for Lily's spring recital to start.
Lily had a spring recital at school.  She was a horse, along with the little girl next to her in pink.  The other girl became very shy in front of the crowd and wouldn't say any of her lines.  Lily said hers nice and loud.  I was such a proud momma!
Lily's decorated program for the recital,
The back of the program was also decorated for our enjoyment!

Flower girls and a New Family Member!!!

Goodness, I am so bad about remembering to take pictures on special events.  Lily and Aubrey were asked to be in my cousin Josh's wedding.  We now have an official new member in the family, although no pictures to go along with it, darn it.  Welcome to the family Courtney!!!
My amazing Grandpa Smith, the kindest man I have ever met.  Just looking at this picture warms my heart and brings tears to my eyes.
Enjoying some time with their cousin Kenah!
This was definitely one of the highlights of the wedding from the girls standpoint, and  I have to say I rather enjoyed it myself.  A photo booth, with a bunch of fun costume stuff.  A great way to document the event.  Sadly though, I am so not computer savy, have no idea how to scan them into the computer to post here.
Such beauties!
Is this not the cutest couple you have ever seen.  62 years of marriage, and he still calls her hot rod.  They are the people that I strive to be.

Happy Mother's Day to Me!

Wow, we make some adorable babies!  Just scrumptious!
I got a new hammock this year for Mother's Day.  The weather was so gorgeous  that the girls and I got to spend a lot of time snuggled up in it that day.  The only problem is they want to swing in it, and I really don't!  Hopefully the squirrels will stay away from this one!
Spent much of the time outside just trying to keep the hat on Hadley's head!
The sign of a good day...being passed out on the couch with hubub all around you!
In the evening we went back out onto the hammock.  I made the mistake of changing into my PJ's.We have these big bushes that produce really pretty pink flowers in the spring.  They are beautiful flowers, and the girls get free reign on them every year.  They don't last long once picked, and tend to have a fair amount of little spiders on them.
The girls decided they wanted to give me one more present.  They took their little wheelbarrow and filled it several times with these flowers.  I was instructed to keep my eyes closed while they showered me with these flowers.  The idea was so sweet, but they kept slipping and moving around.  When some fell off, Aubrey picked them up off the ground with a bunch of dirt and put them on me.  I just kept picturing all these little spiders crawling all over me.
Happy Mother's Day to all you amazing mothers out there.  It is certainly the toughest thing I have ever done, but also the most rewarding.  I just love my little family!!!

Happy 6th Birthday to our Sweet Lily Bean

Our sweet little Lily Bean is 6 years old today. You hear how quickly time goes by, but  I didn't really believe it until I had children.  I remember every detail of the day that God blessed me with Lily, and I thank him everyday for giving me such a wonderful, kind, and loving daughter.
Lily is a major party planner.  She has a few friends with birthdays in January, and that seems to get her gears turning.
She decided for her birthday celebration this year, she wanted to have her first sleep over.  We really had such a great time.  The girls and I (minus Hadley), went to see Mirror Mirror in the theatre.  Thankfully it was still playing, as like I said Lily is a major party planner and had planned on seeing that movie for her birthday the moment she saw the preview months prior!
This is the girls having a dance party, which was so hilarious.  We made pizzas for dinner, made rings, played twister, and I actually think all 3 of them were asleep before 10 pm, which I totally consider to be a success!
Lily picked out the cupcakes for her party this year also.  Usually I make a cake, but with only a few guests this year I really didn't want to get stuck with a whole cake in the house.  Yes, you would find me fork in hand devouring it, despite my best intentions!
The following sequence is hilarious.  Lily had such a hard time making her wish.  She really contemplated it for several minutes before blowing her candle out!
Happy Birthday to our sweetheart.  We love you more than we could ever express.
