Lily's first day of kindergarten!!!

I seriously cannot believe we already have a child in Kindergarten. I have been a roller coaster of emotions today. Lily is our non-stop chatter box. The house is so quiet without her here. I find myself tearing up, then Aubrey will tell me how much she misses Lily and that helps it a lot. Typing that very sarcastically. She was so ready and excited to start school. Now I can't wait for her to come home and tell me all about it!
Lily had her outfit set out the night before for her first day of school in the morning. Was so funny as she had it in the middle of the floor in her room, and anytime someone stepped on it or moved it at all she would scold us and straighten in back out.
Waiting for the school bus to arrive. Obviously not excited at all!
Here's the school bus, along with bus driver Ruth. Lily is in the front seat there. She has the kindergarten and first graders sitting in the front rows of the bus to keep a close eye on them. That made me feel a bit better. You can also see my sexy reflection in the glass ;)Once Lily left on the bus we jetted over to the school. I had to make sure for myself that she got off the bus OK, got to her new classroom, and get a chance to sneak in a few more hugs. She was so excited and in such a hurry to get her day started it was work getting those hugs from her. She had me bring Toto along so she could say goodbye, and I had to remind her to do that even! She's not my baby anymore. Now I need to stop typing so I can grab a tissue.
Aubrey needed to have her picture taken as well. On the way home I told her we could do something special today. She picked making up the cupcakes that she has chosen for her birthday. We made a batch up and they are pretty cute, although the colors are a bit off because of the whole wheat flour. Need to pick up some white flour to really make the colors pop. No picks yet, saving the photo ops for Aubrey's big day. They are bright and make you smile though, just like our Aubs.
