A day at the park

Last week Lily started to stand by herself, and has made it to about 6 steps on her own. This is only though when she decides she feels like trying. I think she is just so efficient at crawling, and of course her famous crab crawl, there is just no reason to figure out that pesky walking thing.

Climbing on the other hand she seems to have no problem with!

When they were getting ready to leave she was being held by Grandpa, and really did not want to let him go. The feeling was definitely mutual.

My sister Jamie just graduated with her bachelors from Portland State this last weekend. We have a wonderful celebration, and obviously she is just glowing.

I got to meet my cousin David for the first time this weekend. Cousin Andria helped us with our bathes, although I helped out to by washing Davids back.

Finally a day in the pool

Last week we finally had a gorgeous day with lots of heat and sunshine. We had so much fun playing in the pool and sprinkler. I also tricked Lily into standing all by herself for the very first time. This last about 10 seconds until she realized that my leg wasn't behind her anymore. Then she plopped right back down on the ground.

After swimming we came inside were Lily enjoyed her first piece of corn on the cob, red eyes from sunscreen and all. Not much was actually eaten, but it made a wonderful chew toy.

Dressup and cell phones already

Starting to show some interest in playing dressup recently, and I just couldn't resist getting her a tiara to add to her ensemble.

It cracks me up when Lily goes up to the phone, snaps it open, and starts talking in full speed jibberish on the phone. She obviously gets that from her Daddy!

New baby's chair?

I was washing this seat the other day, slowly getting things ready for our new addition. I am afraid that Lily might have other plans for this seat however.

The taos of poop

Today Lily and I went to the grocery store to pick up things for my sister Jamie's graduation on Saturday-yay Jamie! We were just about finished when the obvious scent of a dirty diaper created by miss Lily wafted my way. I grabbed the last couple things we needed and got in line to pay, thinking that I would change Lily in the restroom on the way out, or possibly wait the 2 miles to home to change her. The store was really packed and I had just started loading my items on the cart. There were several people behind me in line so I was blocked in.

I look down at Lily, who is wearing this cute little dress with matching undies. In between her legs and one of her sides, and a big toe are all covered in an obscene amount of slimy poo. I was totally moritified. I kept trying to pull her dress down to atleast cover most of the poop from plain site. This of course would not work because Lily was busy showing me her belly button. I unloaded the cart while standing in front of it and Lily, again trying to shield unsuspecting innocent eyes. Then had to bag my groceries while this sweet older gentlemen talked to Lily and complemented me on how sweet and adorable she was. Hopefully he had bad eye site. :)

We made it into the restroom without any of the dramatic scenes occuring that I had playing in my head through this brief ordeal (although it felt to me that it took an eternity). Normally I put a cover on the cart before I put Lily in, but it was in the wash so I did not this time. After seeing that poor cart seat and the damage that Lily did to it, it reminds me again that those are a good thing to use. I am sure that is not the first time this has happened to someone, but I sure how it will be my last.

I left Lily for a moment, as she was entertained in the kitchen with her farm magnets. I knew she was up to something when the room suddenly went quiet.

20 week ultrasound

Corey and I just had our 20 week ultrasound on Monday. The appointment went very well. We were told our baby had a gorgeous head, and heart. Of course every parent knows that their child is gorgeous, but the appointment really let me take a deep breathe and relax. I tend to be such a worry wart, so was just such a relief to know that our child is growing and developing how they are supposed to.

In the top picture you can see the babies head with a big glob on top of it. That is my placenta which the baby stayed snuggled up against for most of the ultrasound. We did not find out the sex of the baby, just to torment all of you really! For those of you though who are trying to venture guesses, I will tell you this. I have no idea if I am carrying differently. I have been told that my tummy appears more round this time, and that I am carrying from the behind (just what every woman wants to hear! :) The babies heart rate was 163, my symptoms with this pregnancy have been about the same as the last one, although I am more fatigued this time. I'm sure that carrying around a toddler who refuses to walk has nothing to do with this however! :)

Our due date is still December 25th. I have truely wonderful Grandpa Smith who has a birthday on December 23rd, so am hoping that this baby decides to honor us with his/her presence on this amazing mans birthday.
