8 weeks old and some beautiful smiles

Babies sure do turn people to mush, but I'm kind of a softy most the time anyways.
Hadley is now 8 weeks old. Smiling much more, and even more of that to come I know. She is starting to realize that she can make different sounds, and of course still almost always is moving her tongue in and out of her mouth. She had her 2 month check at exactly 8 weeks of age, and here are her stats. 10 pounds 14 ounces (62%), and height 22.8 inches (74%).

Road Trip!!!

The girls and I, along with my brother Travis, decided to brave a road trip to Eastern Washington to visit family. We had such a great time. In fact, since we have been home the girls have repeatedly thanked me for taking them on such a fun vacation!
My wonderful Grandparents. It really warmed my heart to watch them holding Hadley. Darn it though that I didn't get more pictures of family. I get so caught up that I forget to grab the camera to capture the moments.
Uncle Ken and Grandpa Smith.
We went down to the lake twice while we were there and the girls had a blast. They even went out on the boat one of the days and went intertubing! Sadly I wasn't expecting them to be so brave and didn't bring the camera onto be boat. I know, excuses excuses!
The girls playing with the cousin Mckenah, Uncle Ken, and my cousin Brandon's wife Ashley.
Both the girls, but especially Lily, developed a major crush for my cousin Kelsi's longterm, and very sweet boyfriend Ricardo. They followed him around like little puppies. Was so cute. Lily even pledged her love to him!
This is my cousin Brandon and his wife Ashley's new addition, Madison. She is absolutely adorable at 5 months old here, and the size difference between them was just hilarious. The pictures don't do it justice.
Playing in the pool at Aunt Sharry's house the last day of our trip. Aubrey really isn't much for the water yet, but Lily is becoming a little fish. With the life jacket on of course. I really need to get her some lessons. We did water babies when she was little, but nothing since.
I had to document this picture of Hadley sleeping unswaddled and not held, as that just doesn't happen.

Hadley is 6 weeks old!

Wow how time is flying by. Hadley is already 6 weeks old. The sleep routine is starting to improve, with the past few nights at 3 awakenings a night. Will only get better right!
So far we are looking at big beautiful blue eyes.
Looking at these pictures and I realized none of these have Hadley with her tongue out, which is very unusual. While awake her tongue is almost always out of her mouth!

Sprinkler time

Looking at this picture and admiring how beautiful my daughter Lily is. She isn't my baby anymore though. She is growing into such a strong, loving and independent little girl.
Sprinkler fun on one of the few warm days we have had so far this season.

Beach trip-Oceanside

Do you ever have those times in your life were everything seems so perfect you kind of hold your breathe? Sort of expecting something to drastically go wrong, because why should one person get to feel such happiness. I feel so blessed with my wonderful family, I thank God everyday for the life he has bestowed on myself and my little unit. Life is good.
We were fortunate to get to stay in the same terrific beach house for the Fourth of July as we did last year. You can't beat sitting on your deck with a hot cup of cocoa watching the ocean (and the fireworks)!
Hadley did terrific down at the beach. We made sure she was all cocooned and I just wore her around (a lot). Thank goodness for chiropractors!
Walking down to the beach from the house.
The girls had a blast, although Aubs did take one tumble in the waves. Corey was of course right beside her and pulled her right up, but she didn't get to close to the water after that. Feel bad, as now she says she doesn't want to go to the beach anymore. Hope she gets over that!
Lily flying a kite for the first time, she loved it!
May I ask you a question? Investigating the tide pools during low tide.
That's my girl, smiling as a bug crawls all over her.
The girls patiently waiting for the Fourth of July parade to start. Happy Holiday to you all!
