more of Christmas morning

I was so thankful to have Christmas morning at home with my family. Lily has a little bit of a stomach bug Christmas Eve night, woke up twice covered with vomit. First thing in the morning was a bubble bath for Lily rather than heading to the presents right away. Am sure in future years there is no way we would have been able to get away with that. She was quite the trooper though and had a great day. We had a nice breakfast, opened way to many presents, and spent a leisurely day playing with our gadgets and eating. Was a wonderful Christmas morning, and am so thankful for it.
Am so ready to explode here. Thought for sure I would have to spend Christmas in the hospital. Thankfully Aubrey had a little different plan, which worked out perfectly.

present fun

This cat purrs and meows among other things. It was a pretty interesting week leading up to Christmas when the cat would randomly meow throughout the day and night. Lily loves it, is kind of creepy to us.

She absolutely loves clothes, so had to put on her new shirt from Grandma and Grandpa, which she wore the rest of the night and slept in underneath her pajamas. Also had to wear her new helmet to go along with her new bike. Should be a lot of fun this spring.

Guarding this present I guess, don't know what she will use as chairs after this!

This was the first present she opened Christmas morning, and we could have stopped there. Between her new book and playing with wrapping paper and boxes she was a happy camper, overwhelmed by all the presents actually. We may have went a tad overboard =)

bye-bye

Bag in hand, and one of her old favorite hats on head, Lily often gets on her car or pushes it, tells us bye-bye and heads off. Definitely becoming a girl on the go.

The many uses of Christmas presents

Since we have had the Christmas presents underneath the tree Lily has loved to sort through them, stack them , and use them as her little chairs. (Especially one of your presents Jamie, sorry about that!) Yesterday, she came up with a few new uses for these gifts, which I thought was quite clever.

Nothing like kicking back and relaxing with a nice cup of milk.

They also make a great diaper changing station. Lily went in to the new babies nursery and pulled out a few diapers. She then came back and put a couple of her bears on different presents so she could change their diapers, while saying peeeuuu (meaning bears had pooped their pants and are stinky.)

Christmas decorating

Lily had had so much fun with the Christmas tree this year. She was front and center helping us decorate it, and now loves taking the ornaments off the tree, carrying them around, and then trying to put them back on the tree. We have lost a few ornaments, and others are now missing pieces to them, but that is OK. The tree now doesn't have much decor on about the bottom 1/4, but also gives it more character. She has also been a big help wrapping presents as you can imagine =) A few presents have been stepped through, many drawn on, etc. A big favorite lately is sorting the presents into different piles and of course sitting on them. Thankfully she hasn't realized that the real fun is ripping into the presents! That will come soon enough I am sure.
