A surprise ultrasound

So this morning I went in for a normal doctors appointment. My weight and measurements have been fluctuating quite a bit lately, and this morning I was measured quite a bit small. This could mean various things, but too many of them are scenarios were the baby isn't doing well. I am one of those people who tends to picture worst case scenario, so there were way to many bad things whirling through my mind. Leaving the doctors office I was a total basket case trying to cart Lily and her over flowing diaper bag, while trying to remain atleast semi-calm to not freak her out. I did OK until I called poor Corey on the phone, and then totally lost it. Thankfully they were able to squeeze me in this morning for an ultrasound. I don't have the official report back yet, but the ultrasound tech seemed very knowledgable and reassuring. Everything measured up just fine, and baby was very active (I could have told them that one!) She tried to get some good head shots for me but right as she would center in each time to snap the pic kiddo would move back. His/her hands were snuggled up next to the face almost the whole time, and baby kept yawning with these adorable little lips. It was so reassuring to see baby in there after having a morning that was so scary to me. I cannot wait to get this baby out now so I can count all those fingers and toes, snuggle baby up tight, and directly see that this angel is OK.

Also for those of you curious on if I peeked at the sex or not.....

At the beginning she asked if I knew the sex of the baby. I told her I did not and it was by choice. At the end of the ultrasound she told me it was a good thing that I didn't want to know because she wouldn't have been able to tell me anyways. She had tried to take several peeks for her own curiosity, however baby would not cooperate.

Many Christmas picture attempts

Yesterday we went in for a family portrait/Christmas picture attempts. I wanted a family picture though that would show our growing family. Instead we got a family picture that just looked like I was growing, but not in the pregnancy sense of the word. We got home and tried multiple times to take different Christmas and family pics. It sure was easier when Miss Lily wasn't such a mobile, or opinionated little girl. We wouldn't have it any other way though.

A christmas tradition

We bundled up yesterday to go cut down our Christmas tree at our favorite tree farm in town. Lily actually kept her gloves on which I was so surprised at. I had her scarf to put on her, but she decided that mine was much better. It certainly kept her warm anyways. We found our perfect tree very quickly and then it was on to drink hot cocoa and see the animals. We declined the hay ride this year, as baby it's cold outside!

the undergarment drawer

A few weekends ago Lily discovered my undergarment drawer. We see her quite often walking around the house with multiple pairs of my underwear around her neck like necklaces. I decided to spare you all that scene.
This day we were playing with my hair accessories, also not an unusual thing, and these 2 hair bands were her favorite. Sports bra and head bands, my girls already ready for the gym!

underwater

One of the things we practiced during Lily's swim lessons was submersion. Babies have the instinct to hold their breathe automatically for several seconds when they go under water. As you can see she has that skill down no problem, so cute calm and collected. I however have a difficult time holding my breathe without being able to plug my nose. I know that isn't at all apparent from my picture though =)

Our little helper

We promise, we're not quite to the point of desperation were we would put our daughter to work on the house remodel. She wore these all night long though after watching Daddy work in them. Cracks me up how it squashes her cheeks in, especially this last pic.

Happy Halloween!

Is that not the cutest little hinnie?

Singing songs and cuddling with Gigi.

Enjoying a visit with Grandma and Annie also. Note the bear in Lily's arms. Sometime she refers to it as a bear, but usually a puppy, and it is quickly becoming the favorite must have of her stuffed animals.

Next stop was Miss Bella's house, were the kids had a little Halloween party. They were all so cute in their costumes. Thank you Celeste for having us over, was a lot of fun.

Here's Francis, AKA Yoda hamming it up, and Lily checking him out trying to figure out what he is up to.

Once we got home I put Lily in her jammies and greated a few trick or treaters. Lily doesn't really get any sweets or anything like that. I have such an awful sweet tooth that I am hoping not to pass onto her. She has never had a piece of chocolate before, but sure was quick to grab that candy dish and take guard of it.

a book frenzy

This week one of my projects has been getting Lily moved to her new room. When we moved I had boxed up to boxes of paper books, as at the time she was going through a paper demolition phase. I decided to take them out the other day for some desperately needed new reading material. I so wish I had the camera out when I opened those boxes. Ecstatically and repeatedly she was chanting books, and hoping from one box to the other. She kept handing me books to read her, but was so overwhelmed she couldn't sit through a page of a book.
