Yes sweetie, whatever you want

Lily had been playing on the floor next to me. She crawled over and rested her head on my knee, which didn't show up in the picture very well. Then she looked up at me with those beautiful blue eyes, and I melted. She has already perfected the look that makes me melt and will get her whatever she desires. We are in trouble now!

EEEWW Buddy, you need a breath mint!

Gentle was the key word for the day.

Aunt Jamie came over for a visit the other day with her adorable new puppy, Buddy. We had a interesting time letting them get to know each other. Buddy is very sweet, but is just a little puppy, so gets very excited and wants to give love nips. Lily also gets very excited and yells out and shakes her body up and down. They coexisted quite peacefully however with minimal intervention, and we expect them to be good friends.

Thank heavens for thumbs

At this point we are still so thankful that Lily has her trusted thumb to suck on. She recently had a bad ear infection were she didn't want anything at all except her thumb. She also has 4, yes I typed that right, 4 new teeth on top that have popped through. All at one time to poor thing. Her thumb was a great comfort to her through all this.
For the most part she only sucks on it when she is tired or hungry, and of course when she isn't feeling good. As you can see from the last pic, after crawling a bit she has to take a pit stop to suck and conserve energy.

My first real word

Lily has been saying Dada and Mama for awhile now. Sometimes it appears to be directed at us, other times she will say it to her stuffed animals. She is definitely saying the word Kitty (sounds more like Kiki, but you get the drift) when she sees Sammy. As you can see Sammy is quite curious about her as well, and really has been wonderful with Lily so far. Drats, how do you get rid of a cat when your daughters first word was her.

No more headband days

I have carefully placed a headband on Lily while trying to keep her distracted, now will she actually keep it on?

Apparently not.

It makes a good necklace though.

Happy Valentines Day

On Valentine's Day I was gifted a gorgeous display of long-stemmed red roses which were delivered to work. They are still so beautiful I want to take them everywere with me.
This past weekend Corey went on a belated Christmas/Happy Valentines getaway to Bonneville Hot Springs. It was our first time away from Lily. We received some heavenly pampering, and highly recommend the resort. However nothing compares to the joy and fulfillment that our little girl gives us. Nice to be away, but even better to be home!
